Pre-construction anti-termite treatment

Stage 1: (Bottom & side trenches)
The initial step in protecting a building's foundation from termites is to conduct an anti-termite treatment. This treatment is performed after the trenches have been excavated. The bottom surface and sides of the trenches, up to a height of approximately 1 foot, are treated with a chemical emulsion containing the recommended concentrations of the listed chemicals. Additionally, masonry foundations and basements should be treated with the chemical emulsion to cover the entire surface area.

Stage 2: (Plinth surface)
The anti-termite treatment process involves treating the top surface of the consolidated earth within the plinth walls with a chemical emulsion. This treatment is done before the stone bed or subgrade is laid.

Stage 3: (The external perimeter of a building)
This can be done by using a steel rod to break up the soil at intervals of 15 cm and to a depth of 30 cm. Anti-termite chemicals should then be poured along the vertical surface area of the wall, creating a chemical barrier against termites in the soil. Furthermore, a chemical emulsion should be applied to the top surface of the consolidated earth within the plinth walls before laying the stone bed or sub-grade. These measures help protect the building from termite damage.

Post construction anti-termite treatment for existing buildings

Stage 1: (Ground Floor)
To protect against termites, a treatment process is carried out at the junction of the wall and floor. Holes are drilled along this junction, spaced 18–20 inches apart, with a diameter of 12 mm. The depth of the holes is 6' for the entire foundation and 4" for the first floor premises. A termiticide solution is then injected under pressure into these holes, creating a barrier to prevent termites from entering.

Stage 2:
To control the movement of termites, visible mud tubes that serve as their shelter are sprayed with treatment. Afterward, the mud tubes are removed, and the infested area is treated to eliminate the termites.

Outer Area
It is important to treat the soil around the building's foundation. This treatment, known as rodding, involves applying anti-termite measures to the soil up to a depth of 500 mm below ground level. If the building is surrounded by a garden, the treatment should also be extended to the soil in immediate contact with the building to ensure comprehensive protection against termites.
